Construction Estimator

Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for various construction projects, including schools, municipal buildings, higher education facilities, remodeling, renovation, and new construction. The Construction Estimator will play a crucial role in project planning and budgeting, ensuring that projects are completed within financial constraints.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects
Analyze project plans and specifications to determine scope of work
Conduct site visits to gather information and assess project conditions
Collaborate with project managers and contractors to ensure accurate estimates
Review and analyze bids from subcontractors and suppliers
Maintain a database of costs for labor, materials, and equipment
Provide recommendations on cost-saving measures and value engineering options
Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and project budgets
Monitor project costs and provide updates to management as needed
Stay updated on industry trends and changes in construction costs.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
Proven experience as a Construction Estimator, preferably with schools, municipal, and higher education projects
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations
Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent analytical and math skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work collaboratively with a team and communicate effectively
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Understanding of project management principles and practices.
