Position Overview:
The Fire Sprinkler Designer is responsible for designing fire sprinkler systems for various commercial, residential, and industrial buildings. This individual will work closely with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure the proper function and installation of fire sprinkler systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design fire sprinkler systems for various types of buildings, including commercial, residential, and industrial.
- Develop accurate and detailed fire sprinkler system plans, drawings, and specifications.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure the proper installation and functionality of fire sprinkler systems.
- Conduct site visits and evaluations to gather necessary information for system design.
- Utilize specialized software and tools to create and draft fire sprinkler system designs.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry standards related to fire sprinkler system design.
- Communicate with clients to understand their needs and provide solutions that meet their requirements.
- Oversee and review the work of junior designers to ensure accuracy and adherence to project requirements.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in fire sprinkler system design.
- Extensive knowledge of sprinkler system design principles, techniques, and practices.
- Proficiency in using specialized software and tools such as SprinkCAD and AutoCAD.
- NICET certification in fire sprinkler system design preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and clients.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry standards related to fire sprinkler systems.
- Ability to conduct on-site evaluations and gather necessary information for system design.
