Mechanical Plumbing Superintendent

Position Overview
The Mechanical Plumbing Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and managing all plumbing-related activities on construction sites. This role ensures that plumbing systems are installed correctly, adhere to safety regulations, and comply with local codes. The superintendent will lead a team of plumbers and coordinate with other trades to ensure project timelines and budgets are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage plumbing installation and maintenance activities on-site.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to ensure accurate plumbing installations.
  • Ensure compliance with plumbing codes and regulations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct regular inspections to verify the quality of work and adherence to safety standards.
  • Manage project schedules and coordinate with other trades to ensure timely completion of plumbing tasks.
  • Oversee budgeting for plumbing installations and materials, ensuring cost-effective solutions.
  • Provide leadership and training to plumbing staff, fostering a team-oriented work environment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve plumbing issues that arise during the construction process.
  • Implement quality assurance procedures to maintain high standards of work.
  • Coordinate with HVAC teams to integrate plumbing with mechanical systems.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Plumbing Superintendent or in a similar managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, installation, and maintenance practices.
  • Past project size should exceed $5 million
  • Proficiency in blueprint reading and project management.
  • Familiarity with local plumbing codes and safety regulations.
  • Excellent team leadership and communication skills.
  • Experience in scheduling and budgeting for plumbing projects.
  • Background in HVAC systems is a plus.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance practices in construction.
