Mechanical Plumbing Superintendent

Position Overview
The Mechanical Plumbing Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and managing all plumbing-related activities on construction sites. This role ensures that plumbing systems are installed correctly, adhere to safety regulations, and comply with local codes. The superintendent will lead a team of plumbers and coordinate with other trades to ensure project timelines and budgets are met.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and manage plumbing installation and maintenance activities on-site.
Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to ensure accurate plumbing installations.
Ensure compliance with plumbing codes and regulations throughout the project lifecycle.
Conduct regular inspections to verify the quality of work and adherence to safety standards.
Manage project schedules and coordinate with other trades to ensure timely completion of plumbing tasks.
Oversee budgeting for plumbing installations and materials, ensuring cost-effective solutions.
Provide leadership and training to plumbing staff, fostering a team-oriented work environment.
Troubleshoot and resolve plumbing issues that arise during the construction process.
Implement quality assurance procedures to maintain high standards of work.
Coordinate with HVAC teams to integrate plumbing with mechanical systems.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Plumbing Superintendent or in a similar managerial role.
Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, installation, and maintenance practices.
Past project size should exceed $5 million
Proficiency in blueprint reading and project management.
Familiarity with local plumbing codes and safety regulations.
Excellent team leadership and communication skills.
Experience in scheduling and budgeting for plumbing projects.
Background in HVAC systems is a plus.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Knowledge of quality assurance practices in construction.
