Job Title: Medical Records Clerk
Location: Addison, TX
Salary: $35,000-$50,000 (DOE)
- Assist attorneys with obtaining up-to-date medical records to meet deadlines for client hearings
- Review files for preparation of upcoming hearings
- Prep and distribute medical records requests to the appropriate parties
- Maintain consistent communication and follow up with hospitals and medical providers to obtain medical records
- Review and complete daily to-dos and dockets
- Scan and file records into clients' electronic files
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years experience in a similar position pertaining to medical records
- Previous employment within a plaintiff personal injury law firm preferred
- Ability to maintain discretion and uphold HIPAA standards
- Ability to adhere to strict and time sensitive deadlines
- Strong analytical skills with demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including spelling and grammar
- Ability to multi-task and maintain consistent professionalism within a high volume office environment
- Strong work ethic and ability to work independently within a team-based structure
- Reliable and excellent time management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office with the ability to learn new technology
- Knowledge of medical terminology is helpful, but not required
- Paralegal/paralegal assistant experience highly valued
