We are a largely privately-owned company that owns subsidiaries in the industrial manufacturing machinery industry. Our headquarters is on the East Coast and has been in operation for over a century. We have manufacturing plants nationwide and growing! As our company continues to grow, we are looking to add a Cost Accountant to our team, who will report to the Controller out of our Los Angeles, CA office.

Key Reponsibilities

Create variance cost analysis to support initiatives, identify trends, risks, and areas of improvement
Manage and maintain standard cost system
Monitor item master for cost fluctuations resulting from implemented bill of materials (BOMs) updates
Analyze and extract data to predict variances, metrics, and assess business operations - cost variance, price variance, labor analysis, material variance, and more
Maintain standard costs, manage inventory valuation, review work-in-process (WIP) and resolve any discrepancies
Create forecasts, budgets, financial reports for internal teams
Review cycle count adjustments and any discrepancies, by verifying and analyzing account information ensuring inventory discrepancies are addressed and updated in the system
Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or similar field
5+ years of professional cost accounting experience
Understanding of standard cost system, work-in-process(WIP), and bill of materials (BOMs)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Outstanding analytical, organizational and project management skills
Experience with balance sheets, income statements, cashflow statements, financial statements
Experience with ensuring accuracy and compliance of account entries, inventory management, handling discrepancies, reconciliations, financial documents, and more
Proficent in Excel or financial software (SAP, Oracle, Netsuite or similar)

Nice to Have:

Experience within the manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, or similar industry
