This is an excellent opportunity to join a well established and growing Tax Department, and work with a team of experienced tax professionals. The Tax Senior will be responsible for the preparation of a wide range of Federal and State income tax returns focusing on trusts, estates, high net worth individuals, and other complex tax returns. In this role, the Tax Senior will also provide guidance and support to the tax team, as well as assist with research and planning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing and reviewing high net worth individual income tax returns (1040), trust/ estate (1041) (706), income tax returns, gift tax returns (709)
- Reviewing fiduciary accounting entries and preparing and reviewing K-1s for trust, estates, and partnerships
- Providing tax compliance and consulting services to clients
- Assisting with IRS and state audits
- Assisting with tax research and planning
- Providing guidance and support to the tax team
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field (LLM, JD, MST preferred)
- CPA (active or in process of obtaining)
- At least 3 years professional experience in tax
- Knowledge of estate, trust, and gift tax rules and regulations
- Experience in tax software such as CCH Axcess, ProSystem, Checkpoint, Intelliconnect, etc. (desired)
